Just grind a tool out of high speed steel and cut the thread. This was one of the first jobs I did in my apprenticeship. Somewhat intimidating at first, but really not that difficult and a great learning experience. |

Set your tool a frogs hair above center, be sure it is absolutely sharp, use as big a bar as possible and maybe sloww your machine down a wee bit. |

If you are running a milling machine and using larger cutters,ie greater than 3/8" or using broaches a tool and cutter grinder is a wise investment. IMO |

Four jaw is much safer, way harder for workpiece to come out of the chuck! Take only a wee bit longer to setmup,but gives a much more secure and accurate setup. |

Might be worth trying a chemical finger warmer like skiers use. Instead of putting it on your fingers, try placing it near an artery upstream of your fingers. |
