I can't believe it but all of the next batch have been pre-ordered already !!!!!! If there are still more people after a PCB let me know and I will order yet another batch if I get enough people interested. Cheers, Phil |

Hi, Just a word of warning when assembling the PCB components, don't solder in the screw terminal blocks before soldering the SMD power jack in place otherwise you can't access the powerjack solder pads. I was just told about this by someone assembling their PCB. |

Just a quick update, I ordered another batch of PCBs this afternoon. PM me if you are interested. Has anyone who's already got one assembled it yet? Phil |

Hi Phil, I'm sure I posted this at the weekend but it seems to have disappeared. Many thanks, received the board on Friday, it looks to be excellent quality. Your documentation downloaded fine. You may have mentioned this in the other thread but I couldn't find it, Where did you get the boards from? Kind regards Gray Gray, I got the PCBs from seeedstudio/fusion Phil |

Just to let you know, all the PCBs have all gone now, if there is enough interest I can order another batch. PhilG |

It’s really no problem, Phil ... just weird Everything looks fine whilst I’m viewing your file ‘live’ ... MichaelG. . Edit: I’ve just downloaded it as PDF, and the images are O.K. in that. It’s only my saved version of your Word document that displays wrong. Edited By Michael Gilligan on 26/10/2019 00:05:55 Edit: Sussed the problem ... it’s the fonts wot dunnit !! Edited By Michael Gilligan on 26/10/2019 00:10:26 Good to find out why "things happen" |

The link works fine, Phil The only slight oddity is that the images are compressed width-wise when I open my saved version on the iPad. ... utterly trivial in the grand scheme of things. MichaelG. Hmmm! IPADs.... Apple ... I can send a PDF if you want I just thought that using the link the latest copy would always be available. |

OK, Some of you have now received the PCBs so I have tried to put together a quick guide on how to assemble it, the guide is shared from my Onedrive account so I'm not sure if it will work, if not let me know. |

Yes please! Count me in! Where exactly does this interface sit in the project? Is it in place of the breadboard cough uses? Yes, If you look at his youtube videos (Clough42 video playlist) he designed an interface PCB that converts all the signals bidirectionally from 5V to 3.3V so the Ti Launchpad can talk to the Stepper Driver and the display he uses. All I've done is re-create the interface PCB using through hole components instead of SMD. He will be selling his boards pre assembled and tested, I didn't fancy SMD assembly and reflow soldering and I'm too impatient to wait Phil Edited By Phil Grant on 22/10/2019 19:35:03 |

Thanks MichaelG. . Edit: Will you be selling some boards ? Edited By Michael Gilligan on 21/10/2019 08:37:47 Michael, I wasn't planning to sell them but if anyone's interested then I will send them one, I'm only looking to cover outlay for the board postage and Paypal fees, does £3 for a bare PCB sound OK? I will put some instructions together and a BoM.

Bit of research into how Dropbox manages images has revealed all. Although Dropbox shared links look just like ordinary web image source URLs, they aren't! They actually activate a management layer inside Dropbox that presents the image, as I suggested earlier, as one of many. In consequence Dropbox links can't be embedded successfully in a webpage because Browsers expect a single raw image. To keep the Browser happy it's necessary to bypass Dropbox's management layer. One solution suggests it can be done changing the query string from, for example, https://www.dropbox.com/s/i0ug22ojhy4ajt7/2019-10-19%2020.32.37.jpg?dl=1 to https://www.dropbox.com/s/i0ug22ojhy4ajt7/2019-10-19%2020.32.37.jpg?raw=1 Didn't work for me, perhaps because the method is historic. Instead it seems Dropbox now provide direct access to embeddable images by requesting them from a different server. Rather than: https://www.dropbox.com/s/i0ug22ojhy4ajt7/2019-10-19%2020.32.37.jpg?dl=1 try https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/i0ug22ojhy4ajt7/2019-10-19%2020.32.37.jpg?dl=1
Fingers crossed, that does work. Not sure it's a good way of managing images though. I prefer the forums own Album system for the reasons given by Frances. Although a shade clunky and basic the album avoids many technical issues and is future proof in that it should last at least as long the Forum. Dave Thanks for that Dave, you learn something every day |

Created a new thread with pictures using the Forum Album method, hope you can now see the images. |

Here are a couple of pictures of my version of the Electronic LeadScrew project interface by Clough42. It is a through hole solution with only the DC power jack being SMD. I have used the Album feature of the forum due to some people not being able to see the pictures using a dropbox link. |

All the images are good for me now. PCB looks good. What is the power rating of the resistors you have used? 1/8W to get them small enough. |

It would be much easier both now and especially for the future to use the admittedly clunky album feature of this site - Dropbox is a tracker (hence the 'free' nature - viewers pay via privacy) + also such 'free' sites tend to drop images after a time thus often wrecking the thread (see the mess made when one such site went commercial) I will have a look at using the album feature.
Although it's the first time I've had issues with Dropbox links on forums

Do all the previous images show as I used the same dropbox link for them all! |

The final PCBs arrived yesterday for the Electronic leadscrew project from Clough42.. t powered up and worked fine, There are spaces for the eeprom and two power LEDs, 5V and 3.3V but I haven't populated them as it will be inside a box and not visible. I also changed the power socket to a surface mount one because it sits overs some header pins on the host board.
