Here are a couple in the pipeline: Martin |

Now have both apps and will start by trying out on my various samples of RECORD ROUNDEL BLUE. I have several actual tools with good decals and a variety of images to check against each other. this colour is known for widely differing shades and opinions on what is “correct”. Cheers, Martin |

Michael, Can not seem to find that exact app but found a similar one using Colormeter as search, it seems to do what I want if used with EasyRGB. Adam, I do not think that there is a problem replacing a worn or absent makers logo on a genuine tool from that maker if the decal is clearly stated to be a reproduction? I could of course be wrong? Cheers, Martin |

Thanks for the input here. I am making the decals myself and they are turning out quite well, just some issues with the colour. the issues are exactly because of the original image source as described above, variations in image lighting etc. I had forgotten that Pantone swatch cards were available, I will look into that. I wonder if there is some kind of “scanner’ available? I know that paint stores can mix a custom colour from a sample. cheers, Martin |

Hi All, I am in the process of making some reproduction tool logos using Adobe Illustrator which I have just rented on a monthly basis. I used this quite a lot many years ago and am now re-learning the program with some moderate success. Having got samples of the originals from online photos and some actual tools with complete or damaged decals I am at a bit of a loss as to how to get the actual colour RGB or CMYK values for use in my items. Can anyone suggest how I might go about this please? Cheers, Martin |

Thread: Anyone know what these fit? |
07/11/2022 18:33:19 |
Michael, Hmmmmmm, that's me put well in my place in the nicest possible way! I did actually happen to talk to a top notch leather worker who told me that he used one to emboss a size mark on wet leather. He did say that the tool was not designed for that use but worked well. I took that as being OK. I should have asked on here though should I not? Have not heard back from the buyer yet.... Cheers, Martin |

I should also add in the spitit of the above remark that Amazon has very little to fear from me also! I Wish it were otherwise! Cheers, Martin |

Hi All, As I am probably the number one offender here, if indeed it is an offence I felt I should comment. I am always posting "what is this" type of threads and have never made any secret of the fact that I am an ebay seller. My wife and I are registered on EBay as a business seller and also with HMRC to pay my taxes. I never advertise my items on here and am always just trying to get info so that I can be accurate in my descriptions to avoid problems or disappointment to my buyers. I really enjoy expanding my knowledge with the help of members on here and sometimes feel that I, too, can contribute rather than just benefiting from the communal knowledge. I have sometimes wondered if I might be "pushing the envelope" a bit too far and am ready to be checked if this is the case? I would love to hear comments on this. Cheers, Martin |

28/10/2022 11:31:39 |

Thread: Accessories for NHS Hearing Aids? |
25/10/2022 22:48:36 |
Peter, is it possible to fix this delay somehow? see my post above please. Cheers, Martin |

FAO Andrew Entwistle Hi Andrew, I have a set of private hearing aids form SpecSavers. The artery I opened to buy them has yet to heal! They are rechargeable and at night sit in a small charger which also has a drying function. I bought an extra gizmo which uses the optical audio out from my SKY Q box to stream the TV audio to my aids via an app on my iPhone(11) and iPad Pro. This works well for the most part but does have issues connecting at times. The only irritation is that if my wife is also watching TV with me her "volume" via the SKY remote is very slightly delayed and I get double volume at times. she keeps hers as low as possible (she has EXCELLENT hearing). I believe that this might be an inherent issue with BlueTooth and wonder if anything can fix this? The other issue is that with the gizmo on I can barely hear my wife speaking to me at all so she communicate by aiming various soft articles at me! One does wonder whether this is a good or a bad thing at times..... Let us know how your item works out in action please. Cheers, Martin

Thread: Odd Shaped Hooks?? |
15/10/2022 18:06:37 |

15/10/2022 15:11:13 |
Hi All, Just picked up yesterdays auction lots and in among the items I wanted is a box of about 100 of these odd threaded hooks. Can anyone shed any light on what they might be for please? Regards, Martin |
