Thread: Injector issue. |
16/06/2019 21:19:42 |
Can anyone offer any advice on a injector issue i am having. I turn on the water supply to the injector and water flows from the overflow. I then turn the steam on, with some carefull balancing i can get a flow of water to the boiler but more often than not it end in a plume of steam from the overflow. There is a slight waterleak from the shut off valve, both past the o rings and past the body into the injector, i have replaced the o rings in the shut off valve but its still leaking which is down to the wear, does anyone know of a supplier of this part or should i set about making my own ? Thanks Edited By Brian Abbott on 16/06/2019 21:23:54 |

Thanks for all the reply's, appreciate you taking the time. Martin Johnson, whats the process to blow down ? Do i just let the boiler pressure drop down to about 10 psi then open the valve and let it all out ?

Hello all, can you offer me some advice. If i have a diameter 63mm with a h6 tolerance. (Guide bush) What tolerance should i apply to the bored hole to ensure a good slide fit ? I have never been any good with tolerances, normally i just machine to fit but on this occasion i am having the holes bored by a contract machining firm in spain and want to make sure i give them the correct tolerance. Thanks for any help. |

Hello guys, need some advice. I have just bought and had delivered some enamel paint i am going to use to repaint a lathe stand, ordered some thinners at the same time but unforunatly the box must have been transported upside down and 75% of the thinners has leaked out the container. I am sure if i speak to the supplier they will sort something out but i am wanting to get on and don't want to wait, does anyone know an off the shelf alternative ? The paint is Paragon myford grey and the thinners is PT8 Quick note, please don't read this as me having a go at the supplier, all was good and i know these things happen, Thanks all. |

Moving on.. Want to make a start on the chimney saddle, ordered a casting but not really sure where to start. I’m ok with the machining, I am unsure what to do with the finished cast surface. The casting has the usual flash and burnt on bits, anyone got any work on progress pictures of this part ? Thanks.
