[ Some pics don't seem to open by left clicking but a right click and 'open link' option does. Dunno why .. ]

Thread: WM 16 Milling Vice
19/07/2014 21:50:36

David

I've had a WM16 for some 4 years and have both a K4 and the 80mm vice from ARC.

The ARC vice is better IMO, bigger throat and more accurate.

It's the 130-040-01200

K4 Swivel base ?? I took mine off after 6 months or so as it compromises headroom to some extent. I presume it's still on the floor somewhere, never felt the need to look for it .

Lots of places to get the brushes but NOWHERE to get the caps. Sadly they do not come with the brushes, I suspect that any given size of brush will fit various motors, all of them having different holders. Just a guess, don't really know why.

Cheers Derek.

A couple of years ago I got some from here:

Do you know the thread/pitch 'cos I have some here if they just plastic discs or are they the ones with a threaded brass insert?

Thread: Single Phase Motor 'Run' Capacitor?

Daniel ..

It's not Farnell Leeds, it's CPC-Farnell at Preston. Unless Farnell have the same item.

You have checked the dimensions to be sure it fits, I hope ?????

To be quite honest, I would do what Ian says, just remove the thing and see if it creates RFI. If not just forget it ever happened ... laugh

Not elegant but cheap ... one of the philosophies I prefer cool

Just a Delta Capacitor probably. 3 caps.

This is the sort of thing you need but it's too large to fit in. Bottom of page.

There are some others in a smaller package but beware. Similar looking things are made in ratings for low voltage motors ...

Like the items at the top of the link.

Make sure you get one rated for 240VAC

Dave

Just had a sniff around ...

Probably a better bet:

Thread: Picaxe in programmable electronics
05/12/2013 21:55:48

Bear

Depends what use you want to do with it.. I no longer use it Now on (HT)C and 16F PICs.

For: Loader is cheap ( AXE027??), good dedicated forum, Very good documentation, Easy to learn.

Against: Cripplingly slow for some applications due to the built-in interpreter.
