Thread: Stan bray marine engines book
21/01/2018 13:00:58
Hi I am designing a few oscillating marine engines. I am looking at keeping the same stroke but lowering the hieght of the engine. Stan bray in "model marine steam" on page 30 talks about how to move the 2 ports closer to the pivot point so closer together while still being able to make the overall height shorter. But as the ports would be below tdc I would have to use transfer ports, to the single port in the cylinder which is above tdc.
My question is, are the transfer ports in the steam block or the cylinder block? If any one has a clear diagram or advice off how to do it I would be grateful
Thread: Copy of turbocad Pro 14 needed

Hi I have been learning different cad and cam packages. I picked this up cheap and thought I would add it to the bottom of the list. Which is where I am now.I normally use autocad or draftsite and then bring into the cam packages I have like vcarve etc.

Hi has anyone got a disc copy of turbocad Pro 14 going cheap. I brought a copy with the cam addon but it is turbocad deluxe and the cam needs turbocad pro 14.
It has to be version 14 as they made a new add on for each version. Cheers

Thread: Reading archive on android
13/03/2017 02:32:57
Hi I had a problem reading the online archive on my mobile Android device. Both Firefox and Chrome, would not run the viewer. I recently changed over to the Dolphin browser and now the viewer works. You may need to turn on zoom, on your phone as the viewers zoom is not that good. Hopefully this is of help to anyone else having the same problem. Also general browsing of the Internet was quicker.
Thread: list of issues for projects in ME
03/01/2017 13:58:07
Hi thanks for the replies. I have used the index alot but I wanted to find somewhere that had a name and description of the model project . followed by the articles needed. Rather than typing in generic searches like Stationary steam engine or oscillating engine etc. Maybe I am being a bit lazy. Cheers everyone

Hi when the control board went in my daughters mini mill DC motor. I used one of these off ebay number:-91548965019
This one is 240v AC in & 90v DC out but you can get many different outputs including AC in & AC out. I even got one with 180v DC output to control the running machine motor on my South Bend. As they come from China I always buy more then 1 incase of mistakes wiring it.
