Thanks for that info Alan! When is the series expected to end? cheers, Ian |

Hi Alan, I was one of those who bought a copy of the book off you, and while realistically I may never build it unless I get loads of spare time, I enjoy the book immensly. It's just such a beautiful and elegant design, I like to keep it handy for if the time comes I can tackle it. I also bought the MEW issues 151-153 in case there were extra bits, and for a time I was getting the current issues with your articles, but unless I'm mistaken, the article seems to be going on forever, even missing some issues, so I kind of got lost on that. It doesn't help being in OZ as we are very much an after thought for magazine suppliers, (more of a dumping ground for old issues at full prices) and can often have a narrow window to get issues due to timing and limited supplies. To me it just feels like it's been serialised to hell and back with the current issues by MEW. Is there an authorative list of the issues the article is in? cheers, Ian |
Thread: New subscriptions, am I thick or what? |

For a bit of perspective from us in OZ, I used to pay roughly $13AU for each of the digital versions of both mags 6 monthly, so around $55-$60AU total inc overseas transaction charges per year, for unfettered access to both online editions of Model Engineer and Model Engineers Workshop. Granted our dollar is crap at the moment, but these increases mean it will now cost me $83AU per year for the same level of access to just ONE of the digital magazines. I won't be renewing either now when they run out, I love the mags, but at that price I may as well fork over the $15AU for a hardcopy instead when it has something in it i'm really interested in. To me it seems a bit short sighted to jack prices up so high, traditionally what usually follows in circumstances like this is a decline in membership, which then inevitably leads to more price rises, less members, etc. It;'s a shame, as I have enjoyed the mag as a casual reader, but to pay double to triple for the same access is just too rich for my blood, especially when the issues contain mostly ads for items in a country we can't realistically buy them from.
