Been thinking about getting spindex thing, (arceurotrade one).**LINK**

Are they solid enough to mill hexagons on bolts, or really just a simple drilling thing?

I only ask because the locking pin does seam a good distance from the action!

I have been using a hex ER collet block, but if these spindexers are ok, I'd be able to check for run out etc easily.

Treated meself to one of Arceurotrade's new 000 QCTP.

These are the sliding wedge type.

I bought mine for a Sieg C4, i'd had a mini lathe QCTP before, but, they are not very good!

Very impressed! Very precise location, far more positive and accurate than my "piston" type 2 on the Crusader!

Only problem is, I now need to buy more holders.......

The new ARC brushes arrived today, fitted straight in.

Happy days.

Just discovered my mill is dead. Its a WEISS mill, similar to Chester's "chapion 20v"

Took out brushes and blew out with air and she lives again.

One of the motor brushes is very short, I have looked and can't find the correct size.

They measure 3.4mm wide, 10mm high and I'd guess around 15mm long when new.

Can anyone help, please

I also drilled and tapped the cross slide. 4 holes on the top and three on the side, (I made an "L" shape plate).

I figured that if I had a crash, it would be better to damage a steel plate than break a cast iron cross slide!

It also means that the load is spread over a far greater area

M10 button head capscrews are 6mm hex.

I have used "low head" cap screws, I think they were 7mm hex

1 1/2" is a bit big!!

The job was some 30mm 304 stainless.

I think i got the chuck from Gloster tooling on ebay.

The bearing type nut is excellent. **LINK**

I have not had to resort to using the spanner yet, even on 1 1/2" stainless bar.
