Thread: Damaged Back Gear on Malcar 41/2" Lathe |
16/11/2017 14:10:49 |
Good afternoon all,
I have a MALCAR 4 1/2" Lathe that I inherited from my Grandfather, it was built by the Wragg Brothers circa 1954. I have unfortunately damaged the driven backgear on the main spindle. Does anyone have knowledge of this lathe, an idea of where I may be able to get a replacement gear or possibly have a lathe for parts. Many thanks in anticipation Andy

Gentlemen, I am am thinking of upgrading my aged MALCAR 4.5" x 20" lathe (circa 1954). Due to workshop size I have narrowed my thoughts down to the following lathes: A, Warco WM 290V B. Warco GH 550 + DRO C. Chester Craftesman Your thoughts, advice or comments from ownership of the above models would be greatly appreciated. Regards AndyC |

Thread: New to Model Engineering |

Hello fellow members, I am just starting out in Model Engineering and currently building my workshop. I was wondering if there any model engineers or model engineering clubs in my locality of Shaftesbury, Dorset. If anybody can offer any advice to my question it would be very much appreciated. |
