As you can see from the diagrams supplied with the parts the locations of the gears are not correct for the top smaller gear despite being marked using proper techniques. The bottom gear looks good to go . I think when I have a go next time the best way forward is to mount up second smallest gear on its axel before working a new position for the smaller gear to double check the positions before re drilling top gear. As the diagrams do not appear accurate. I am believing that the gear should protrude out of the side like the lower to give proper gear meshing.
