The Leighton Buzzard Light Railway has played host to many narrow gauge locomotives, one of them being the narrow gauge quarry Hunslet locomotive Alice
There were quite a few Alice class locomotives in the Welsh quarries, many of which have survived into preservation.

Some of the quarry Hunslets have an enclosed cab although most do not.

The locomotives are spread throughout the British mainland so there is probably one near you.

A 2 1/2in. gauge quarry Hunslet is being designed and built and the series should start in Model Engineer in early 2011.
