More about me:

Born 1946. Left school and  went into an apprenticeship with Vickers Armstrong (later changed to BAC) as an aircraft electrician. After my basic workshop training, (all apprentices went through basic sheet metal bashing, smithing, machining, tech. drawing, theory of flight etc.) I was offered the chance to change to a radio / electronics / avionics apprenticeship which I jumped at. Worked on Viscount, VC10, BAC 1-11 and TSR2. Was involved in early auto land systems for the VC10. After completing my apprenticeship I left BAC and worked in aviation medicine and then oceanographics for the next 10 years.

The mid 70's were the start of the microprocessor era and I felt that there were opportunities for custom design of micro based control systems so I started my own business. I ran this for the next 30 years producing one off's and small batches of units in many different fields including oceanographics, pharmacological manufacturing, many different motor control systems, metreological sensors and early automatic assembly systems. In the 90's I obtained my amateur radio licence and am on the committee of the Dorset emergency radio network (Raynet).

In 2011 I retired and am happily making swarf in the Dorset countryside when time permits.
