More about me:

I have been "muddle" engineering off and on for 40 odd years.  Started with Gauge 1, not well made but at that time I had little in the way of knowledge or workshop.  Family and business interests got in the way of this hobby for some years but then I decided that 2.5" Gauge was worth a go, better workshop and skills but then due to ill health had to leave it for 3 years.

13 years ago I became very interest in Clocks and built three that look and go very well, but I have become bored with clock building and now that I have a well equipped workshop and a large garden decided that I would build a live steam Gauge 1 loco and train to run in the garden. The grand children will enjoy that, I think and so will I.

I am very fortunate that I have an excellent set of books on live steam models but I would still like to get hold of the Book covering LBSC’s Dot or any other Gauge 1 Live Steam Books.

I have purchase the plans and castings from Reeves and intend to start soon on this project. I did subscribe to ME for 40 odd years but discontinued my sub about 5 years ago. I thought at that time that there was not a great deal of interest for me in that magazine. I have taken up a new sub recently and look forward to reinvigorating this hobby.

Best wishes to all
Eugene Aynsley
