More about me:

I learned basic Engineering skills in the mid-1980s, during an 8 month stint as an Apprentice based at Old Oak Common. We were sent to Swindon Works where we learned Lathe and Milling Machine operation, Oxy-Acetylene and TIG welding - and more.

I'm passionate about Railways, and have recently made a G scale circuit in my loft with some USA and European Traction - I've also acquired some large scale items for restoration. Of note there's a part built LBSC 'Molly' LMS Jinty Tank 3.5" gauge, so I'm particularly keen to restore her to full working order. I'll be needing (to construct or acquire) a chassis and boiler, the body being present but in need of tlc.

I don't as yet have a lathe/milling machine, but will be looking for a miniature combination variety.

I would welcome any messages, and look forward to learning about Model Engineering.
