My passions are playing jazz and big band trumpet, and model engineering ("playing about in the shed again" according to the good woman).

I live in lovely rural Hampshire with Jan and our little dog Molly, fairly close to the former Southern Railway works at Eastleigh. My father worked in the works all his life and was a very clever engineer and a great bloke. Standing at his knee as a kid was where I gained my love of all things mechanical.
