Age 74, began Model Engineeering in 1998, built a "Marie E" 5 in gauge and a Brisbane Tram to one seventh scale. It has changeable wheels and can be set to run on either 5" or 7.25" gauge. Both models have featured on the front cover of Australian Model Engineer, both have won the QSMEE Championship Cup, and both have won awards at the annual AALS Convention.
Currently building a 2-8-0 Queensland Railways Baldwin imported in 1879. This was the first Queensland loco with an eight wheel tender. Current (Nov 2012) progress: Boiler complete and tested. Chassis complete. Ashpan and grate complete. Wheels complete and rods fitted. Still to do - piston rings, valve rods, valve timing, pumps, painting, superheater, etc
