I did an apprenticeship as a toolmaker in the 1970's. Moved (naturally) into banking, never touched the tools again, and spent my working life looking at other numbers on peoples computer screens.
Retired due to the Big C in 2017, moved to Cumbria, and got back to my roots equipping a workshop. Currently running a Myford Super 7 and a Chinese knock off milling machine, both with DROs; and a Stent T&C grinder.
Heavily into the smell of steam and warm oil; and just plain tinkering. Currently building my way through to Stuart range.
