I am not a model maker or 'proper' engineer but I have a Boxford CSB (my only bit of 'serious' machinery) and a small flypress (but no tooling......). I also have a small pillar drill and a bench grinder but those can only be classed as 'hobby' machines at best.
My intention is to use the lathe and other stuff to do odd jobs related to my other hobbies rather than as an end in itself.
I'm a dinghy sailor/racer, musician and retired sound engineer, I have a home recording studio, play guitar in a band and have two sailing dinghies and a small RHIB.
My engineering background is GCE then dropped out of an HND in Electrical Engineering nearly 50 years ago. Over the years I have rebuilt several cars and bikes so I'm not a complete mechanical numpty but more or less relearning machining from scratch.
