I'm in my early forties and served what I class as the last of the old fashioned Apprenticeships. When my college mate where doing CNC and I was die filing press tool dies for hours on end. I then spent twenty years working in an Aerospace foundry. I now run a successful 5 and 9 Axis machine shop in Norfolk. The kids have grown up and I've got time to build my workshop with old machine tools, many of them free and a lot needing TLC. I have a real interest in Tom Senior M1 Milling machines as I had a cheap far eastern machine which you couldn't cut butter on. The M1 I've acquired in an ex school machine 3 phase running of a 240v inverter. It's the Rolls Royce of model engineers mills in my eyes. I am currently making a pattern to reproduce the vertical heads. I'm keen to hear from any other like minded members.
