1 forum posts | Hello First post so greetings. I am stripping and rebuilding etc a ML7 and wonder if anyone has ever found change gears with a bore other than 5/8 please, I have some which purport to be suitable but are only 1/2. The only thing I have found is this link which may or may not be correct. and seems to be contrary to every other reference? http://www.lprtoolmakers.com.au/myford-lathe-back-gears-full-set-enlarge-myford-lathe-back-gears-full-set/ Any help gratefully received Thanks Rob |

2742 forum posts 39 photos | Hello Rob, Welcome aboard, I hope you find useful information from the forum. There are other threads dealing with rebulds of an ML7 which maybe useful for you, fairly recently listed too. Genuine Myford gears are 5/8 inch bore and have been since ML4 days in the 1940's as far as I know. I did look at your link and my first thoughr was that the bore size quoted at 1/2 inch may simply be a typo. Enjoy the project Brian |

If by chance they aren't, then they clearly aren't suitable. I recall buying gears from Nottingham and having to lap the nominal 5/8" bore out to fit my Super 7. |
