Does it have a 'clicker' on it? It is important. What is its range and do you have a standard to help rebuild the thing? Finaly is there a nut inside the thimble it is turned by the little 'C' spanner?.

A paper or film micrometer has discs on the business end of the spindle and on the anvil which stop the spindle being withdrawn through the nut...the disc is what i need to remove...or maybe its not designed to be removed
