Are they as good as I think they are ??

2 forum posts | Hi folks. After a 20 year gap, I am hoping to turn my hand back to a bit of machining, only this time for fun. I have equiped myself with a small Myford lathe, & I am now looking for a small milling machine. After a lot of scanning, things like e-bay etc, I came across the bca. It seems ideal in size, it's lack of electronics ( speed control etc ) & also the fact that it looks basic enough to maintain with a spanner or two. The rotary table looks like an added bonus also. The work I will be embarking on, is the odd model stationary or marine steam engine, & maybe other odd small bits & bobs. Do you think it's a good choice for this sort of thing, or is there a pitfall ?
Many thanks, all comments, views welcome. |
