10 forum posts | Having one of these machines that I would like to run from a PC, I was wondering if anyone had carried out this conversion, if so how would you rate the skill level required? |

I have converted a TCL240.
Basically there is information on the web on how to do it, but be prepared to change the stepper drivers, remove the processor pcb....and loose the front panel switches unless you invest in something like the PoBoard.
You may also have issues with the DC driver for the motor.... dependant on what is there you might have to provide an isolated DC supply for the 0-10v input.
Rgds

Hi, thank you for the reply. I
have had a look on the web but it seems that certain knowledge in electronics
is assumed and it is that that I don’t have. I
am quite happy with the prospect of soldering, wiring etc. and replacing all
the parts but it is what to use and where. Ideally
I think what I am looking for is a wiring diagram and a parts list. Edited By Shugs on 29/10/2009 22:22:51 |

2 forum posts | not sure if you're still in need of help with this, it's a relatively easy conversion if you use Mach3 as the controller. You can use the existing steppers, drivers, psu and spindle drive, and you could do the conversion relatively cheaply.
If you need any help, pm me. |
