5307 forum posts 83 photos | I'm under instruction from my grand daughters to make a little battery loco for them. I'm planning on something like a Y1 Sentinel as it has very square outline. All up weight will be less than 25kg, and I'm planning on using delrin bushes for the axleboxes. Why? Because I've got some. I've found some info on using it dry, but I'm planning on lubricating with an oil can before every run. Anyone got any info on PV values, limiting speeds etc It will have 67mm wheels, which gives a rubbing speed of at 8mph on 10mm axles, just over 1000 rpm, 31.9 m/min, at a bearing load of 0.033 kg/mm^2 |
