Hi folks

new to the forum, but already impressed by what i've seen.

I trained as an engine reconditioner a million years ago, and stayed in the trade for ten years, Although my vocation changed, i continued to do engine work in my spare time on our bikes & cars, and for family & friends.

I also continued to purchase equipment and machinery as we could afford it, and when there was space. My wife is supportive, and it makes things easier!

A few years ago, we had the opportunity to buy a small milling machine but couldn't use it immediately due to needing an electrician. Then covid came with its lockdowns and restrictions, so it became low priority.

It's only recently that it finally got wired up, and i then began the familiarisation phase. After failing to find anything about my particular brand of machine on-line, i eventually realised it's an Emco FB-2.

This forum has proved very useful in identifying and getting to know my machine:

Welcome Red Duck! Please let us know how you get on - what other people do with their machines is always fascinating.

Some bad news you'll gave to break gently to your wife though. Now you've caught the bug and bought a mill, it's vital to buy a lathe as well. Urgently. And then many, many other toys essential tools...

The mill is the most recent addition . . .

I have had a lathe for years, and other automotive related equipment such as valve refacer, Sunnen horizontal hone, hydraulic press etc.
