Hello. I have a Smart & Brown Model "A" in good condition and a similar machine that I am doing up for my son. I have the saddle off on this second one and am trying to sort out the nut and the oiling system without too much success. There are seven threaded components on the cross slide. Four seem to hold down the bronze nut on the underside. One seems designed to spread out the nut by jamming itself into a slit in the nut. One other one is for administering oil to the nut. So what is the last one designed to do. It is a screw with a regular screwdriver slot at the top and seems to be in a small circle inscribed on the top of the cross slide.

Whilst investigating this aspect of the Model "A", I became aware of the Apron-based oiling system. Has anyone documented exactly where all the oil should go? Has anyone set about it and sorted it out?
