449 forum posts 72 photos | One of my pet hates is working on any device containing springs, especially those of the smaller variety as they have a habit of jumping out at you and landing on the floor and you end up spending ages searching for the dam things. When doing this sort of work I find myself making up words to the old Gershwin/Fred Astaire number Cause I've got shoes with wings on, Stupid I know but does anyone else find themselves making up suitable lyrics to go with the job in hand? |

"If I had a hammer" by Pete Seeger Well everyday is a school day, I would have guessed Trini Lopez for that one but I see Pete Seeger wrote it in 1949, somewhat before the Trini Lopez hit in the 60’s Mike |

10668 forum posts 2415 photos | "Mack the Knife" I have a strange brain. Apart from"Mack the Knife" being about a murderer, one verse lists actress Lotte Lenya as a potential victim. Lotte Lenya is most remembered as for her role as KGB Colonel Rosa Klebb in the film 'From Russia With Love", which ends with her giving James Bond a good kicking. Which reminded me of Britain's top TV Soap 'Crossroads', famous for wobbly sets, Benny, and ginger prima donna Noele Gordon. Can anyone remember of there's any truth in Wikipedia's claim that cleaning lady Amy Turtle was a suspected Soviet Spy? I don't trust everything I read on the internet! Dave
