222 forum posts 7 photos | Inspired by a picture in todays newspaper, I spent some time browsing the web site of the Vintage Tool Shop at Stalbridge in Dorset. Very interesting, but I think the value of the contents of my workshop has increased by a factor of X10 if I apply their prices. John |

![]() 1129 forum posts 1 photos | John Ben lists several THOUSAND items at a time on EBay, has several staff at the shop and still runs Crimson Guitars. he has a dedicated film unit just doing the videos which are quite lucrative I believe. The man is a workaholic, never stops! He is a seriously talented luthier and turns out some simply stunning work using mainly hand tools. The workshop is kitted out with every tool known to man and he runs luthier courses very successfully. I think that I may well have made a rod for my own back as I think I got him started with selling tools We used to compete at a local "invitation only" tool buying event but it all got a bit silly so I stopped going. As for the prices, what can I say, go figure! Certainly makes our stuff look cheap! Cheers, Martin |

![]() 1129 forum posts 1 photos | The shop is a real Aladdins Cave! The people who work there often have to ‘ask DAD’ if you try to make an offer, else they must stick to the price ticket which may well cause your eyebrows to raise a bit! Martin |
