1 forum posts | The latest edition of Steam Railway features Ivatt Atlantic’s. This set my brain wondering (and wandering) My long departed Dad was a founder member of Erith Model Engineering Society. He built a couple of horizontal engines a a ST beam engine. These are with my sons. Most of the members worked at Frazier &Chalmers/ G.E.C. / C.A. Parsons. They had a permanent track at the sports ground. When the works closed, the track was lifted and relocated at Dartford Littlebrook Power station. I believe they then met in the social club. Dad built a 21/2 inch Purley Grange which he did not complete as it was ‘too small’. He also built an Ajax which I later gifted to the Society. At the time of his death ( over 40 years ago) he was building an Ivatt. Frames, wheels, cylinders and motion were complete as was the boiler. One of the members took it to complete. I would love to know if they all still exist and if there are any pictures available. I know this is a long shot but am very hopeful. Peter |
