Rob Roy chimney position

Looking at the Rob Roy drawings, and about to bore my smokebox, it appears that the longitudinal position of the centre of the chimney/petticoat pipe is not shown. Scaling off the drawing with dividers it appears to be half way along the smokebox, so 1.1875". However, the smokebox door ring is 5/16" deep, and the drawing shows the bottom of the 1.5" diameter chimney flange co-incident with the rear edge of it. This makes the chimney flange 9/16" from the rear of the smokebox i.e not in the middle. No direct dimension is shown.

Sorry I cannot give you a dimension but the chimney must be in line with the blast pipe which originates from the centre of the cylinder so I would suggest a bit of measuring off the job itself. Martin Evans never seems to give the dimensions that you need.
