Sealey SM2502 table end stop?

I was moving the table of the mill further and further to the right whilst looking at the dial gauge and it 'dropped off the end' and wouldn't screw back in again. I had to loosen the Gibb strip and then it re-engaged ok. I would have thought there would be an end stop somewhere. Perhaps a screw is missing??

I do have a screw loose but that's another issue.
