wp_20191014_16_33_29_pro (2).jpgThese parts came with a mill I bought and I've never found out what they are. I realise one of the parts screws into the int 40 tool holder, how does a draw bar connect onto it.

I've no idea what the other things are.

Any ideas,

Thanks

Philip.

Hard to say without photos! But it may be a fitting to use the 40int taper with an automatic change tool holder system.

Aha! Better. The thing on the right is a pull stud for an int taper toolholder to adapt it for use in an ATC on a CNC mill. The drawbar has a clip on the end that grabs it. Other bits look they might be alignment aids.

If the flat topped tool is a metric or imperial length (measured to a reasonable tolerance) it may be a height setting pillar for items that are quite tall when clamped to the machine bed.

Ok I now understand how the pull stud works, it helps when you know the name of something to google it, thanks.

I'll check the height of the l/h tool tomorrow, I wonder why the r/h tool is turned to a point. Also, why have flats been machined on the bases, and grooves machined in those flats.

Philip.

Do the bases fit Tee slots perhaps?
