1 forum posts | My Myford 254S lathe recently developed an oil leak on the feedshaft. Replacement of the oil seal does not seem straightforward in that the sliding gear is retained on the shaft by inaccessible circlips, looking as though it is necessary to remove the main spindle. Having removed the pulley, and the locking ring from the shaft - the taper roller bearings appear to be pressed onto the shaft. Any ideas on dismantling without causing further damage? Any help appreciated. Pete |

2 forum posts | Hi Pete, Hope you don't mind my approaching you. I am looking at buying a 254S which has a problem which might require the removal of the pulley. In your post of 18/10/2018 you mentioned the removal the pulley, could you tell me how you managed it and what puller you used. Regards Dave Palmer |
