Hi,

New to live steam having recently taken on my Grandads 7 1/4 steam train project.

Really want to get the train up and running and am looking to start with a set of drawings.

From recent research and family info I am pretty confident I have a 0-4-0T Midge model which I believe was published in the 30's in ME

I see on previous threads that Horley may have later drawings but I was wondering if anyone has the originals available?

Thanks

Paul

The original design for Midge was by C R H Simpson and described in ME from January 1935 Volume 72 until 1937 Volume 77 by George Gentry. The Horley drawings I believe are the Dick Stockings improved version of around 1984 although I have no idea what the improvements were. Most likely in the boiler department.

By the way, we like to refer to a locomotive or an engine. A train is what is pulled or pushed by one.

Best of luck in your endeavours.

Hi. Really appreciate this information on my locomotive, it helps fill in the gaps I have. I will get a copy of the newer drawings but would still like to find the earlier ones as I have a part built boiler. Kind regards Paul
