![]() 1779 forum posts 1 photos | Can I suggest that you let us all know what sort of work you are needing? A forum member whose workshop is used to making rotors for model gas turbine engines will not look too kindly on being asked to remove the rust from a rear axle casing ... nor the other way round. On this forum there are people who can do what you want, I'm sure, but they are not going to volunteer unless they have sight of your shopping list. For example - I may be able to help with wiring and similar electrical car stuff, but it would help to know the age of the car, and the standard to which the job is required. Exactly as original in every respect, or just getting going and we'll sort the lights out later are quite different areas of expertise. And it might improve your chances if you told us what the car is - and is it a model or full size ...? Regards, Tim |

2 forum posts | Dear Tim, (All) Thank you, I will elaborate; The vehicle is a 1998 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6 (living and breathing) rally car. It is a works replica in works livery as driven by Richard Burns and Tomi Mäkinen in 1998 (Mäkinen famously ripped a back wheel off his Evo 6 on rally GB). It even has a works registration R60 MRE vs R66 MRE. A little more about the works cars and registration numbers can be found here The goal is to restore the car to show condition for Group A or B homologation, then complete in classic car rallies, take the car to events for show purposes and be used for charity passenger rides. Generally the car is in good condition however it has competed on rally GB (gravel stages) so there are signs of wear. It would be fantastic to see it back in its former glory and display it on events. We would be more than happy to look after anyone who would be willing to help on site by means of food and water, eventually rides in the car (potential co-driver even) and they would be more than welcome to help running of the car on events... With regard to the tasks we would like help with;
We have most the tools and equipment on site. My father is Chairman of Blackburn and District Model flying club and I used to race RC cars hence I thought it would be good to reach out on this forum. Thanks for taking the time to read… We would be very happy to discuss further with anyone who would be interested in getting involved. Many thanks indeed.
