For a 4 stroke engine, 1st 3 strokes there will be no mass flow from exhaust port. And during the exhaust stroke there will be mass flowing . Now my question is

, how is the mass flow pattern during the 4th stroke through exhaust port?

Which is most suitable assumption
1) mass flow constant
2) max at begining and 0 at the end of 4 th stroke?

Or any other suggestions
