I have been a long time subscriber to :the workshop", whiling away time that could have been used productively. A bean counter by trade I have been fascinated with machining for years. Mainly workshop accessories and small models. I have a small workshop with 2 myford ML 7's. One 1953 and one 1975(with gearbox)and a couple of small milling machines and other bits and pieces.

I am self taught( with some book larnin' so what I know is not much, but it keeps me off the street.. I hope to learn more from forum members

Welcome aboard!

You will learn plenty on this forum. There is a VAST pool of knowledge among the members, and they will be only too happy to help you, if you have a query or a problem.

Incidentally, is your Perth,Scottish or Antipodean?

If you are not already a member of a M E club, if possible join, assuming that there is one within reasonable travelling distance.. Again, you will find like minded folk who are happy to help, demonstrate, or even lend tools.

Know what you mean about time spent on the Forum. More addictive, probably, but certainly less damaging to health, than drugs! You will go "cold turkey" if you don't make some swarf pretty regularly!

Howard

Or, Canadian? I drove through Perth, Ontario last week. But, I presume, the one and only original.

What are you wanting to do in your workshop?

John.

There are a couple of clubs in Perth (WA). They have even hosted the annual AALS convention. I am self taught from an unrelated work background. With books, magazines and the internet, anything is possible.

My Perth is Perth Western Australia. There is also a Perth in Tasmania and one I think in Queensland
