Hi Dave, I can't see any problem with them, although I wouldn't bother putting the bottom one on even. Every industrial one I've used, only has one chain, and they are more or less fixed at the same height proportionally, with a full size cylinder. My own Supermig 170/1 has just one chain, about the same height as the one Taf_Plems has shown, and it doesn't even have any type of bar at the bottom, in fact the cylinder hangs over the edge of the platform by a little bit, and its never been a problem.
