1050 forum posts 56 photos | I recently bought an Asian import 3-jaw from Chronos. It's appeal was that it was front fixing for my rotary table and it was cheap. I don't know the make. As received, it was extraordinarily stiff to operate and changing the jaws was a nightmare. This has now been greatly improved by relieving the jaw slideways in the body by using a very fine file and the chuck now has a good "feel". It is surprisingly accurate, at least as good as the 2 PB chucks I have. An unexpected, irritating feature however is that it has only one key position, rather than the usual 3, a cost reducing measure no doubt, but on the whole I see my purchase as very good value. |
