 215 forum posts 51 photos | Jon, why do you have to make it look and sound so easy? Do you realise how annoying that is for mere mortals? Many thanks for this. Truth is that my ability to grind a tool is probably up there with my skills as a jet pilot - I would trust neither. So it is an attractive solution, but the idea of using inserts provides better assurance of the important sharp edge. But some other lessons in there too - like using a small chuck if I'm going to up the cutting speeds. As an aside, have you ever considered opening the Lodge to we mortals and offering workshops in the traditional black arts such as tool grinding? My guess is that a line of ticket buyers would form pretty quickly. And we would even promise to sign waivers on H&S issues provided you agreed to remain liable for the quality of the coffee.
