Does everyone use credit cards to pay for these items from China on Aliexpress??

...

I got my card refunded but i don¬t have much confidence dealing with Chinese sellers any longer.

Don't be too put off, the Chinese have criminals just like everyone else. The horrible truth is that we have to remain wide awake whoever we deal with.

The UK is relatively well behaved but even so the cost of fraud here is eye watering. The National Fraud Agency's last published report (2012) gives this breakdown:

Note that the biggest single loss is in "Wholesale and Retail; Repair of Motor Vehicles and Motorcycles". Bad boys in the British motor trade? Surely not!

When a credit card fraud occurs and it's not your fault, the card company is responsible. If yours gave you a hard time, perhaps it's time to dump them. (My favourite fantasy is a million customers moving their accounts the day after their Bank has announced unjustified senior bonuses.)
