Thread: true flat bottom end mills |

Yes I used a center cutting endmill, I ordered it special for this job an it was sold as slot drill because I thought a slot drill would have true flat bottom. But it looks like this one has not. Olaf |

A lot of ideas here! The idea from Martin with the tee-slot style of cutter is to consider. But I like the simple idea with the d-bit from Joseph. This maybe would work. I searched goggle and it looks like they have to be made self and are not commercial available! Easy to do, but I don't have a grinder to do HSS so I would need to buy extra material for this that can be milled and hardened. I'm not so much in tool making. Olaf |

turning can't be done, because the other 3 bridge are in the way. smaller milling cutter would be a option. But I have to do lot of this so one pass would be preferred. Third option is what I tried and did not work. Come on there must be a true flat bottom end mill! |

No,no,no I need this for some thing total different. Please take a look on my pictures on the reel album. It is a little bit difficult to explain. The slot is not simple strait trough it follows the curvature. Because of this the bottom of the end mill is not entirely in contact with the alu when milling. The conventional end mill is not completely flat on the bottom because of this I end up that the middle is higher than the sides as you can see on the photo. This is why I need a true flat bottom end mill in 13.5mm or 17/32". There must be a tool like this. And I don't want to grind one my self. Thanks Olaf |

Today I got the 600-82948 DRO kit from Newall for my 1969 super 7. I have a rough idea how to install the kit to my lathe from looking on some photos I found on the net and forums. If some one has the same kit installed to his super 7 maybe you can send me some more photos and give me some advise how to install the kit and for what to look out. Thanks Olaf |

Thread: Teco 7300 motor speed controller |

John sent me yesterday a mail "the wiring on the remote needs to be altered with the addition of a second normally-open contact block clipped on to the rear of the existing contact block on the REVERSE button." The contact block is on the way to me than we will see if its work. Thanks Olaf |

Sorry but I have to say I have no possibilities to make measurement. Also I no absolute nothing about electric and would not know how to take this measurements.
But you have to remember that it is to 3 wire control mode is selected. What you can see also on page 4-23. What ever this means.
Also in the Manuel is written "As 3 wire control mode is selected, the terminal S1, S2 and S3 is not controlled by 5-02."!)

I have to see if I find some thing to measure.

Hi Bazyle,
the pendant came already wired to me. And than I wired it to the 7300EV NOT EV like it was described in the instruction what cam with the pendant. The guy how sold me this told me that the instruction is made special to connect the 7300CV to this pendant. Ufortunately I can not get in contact with him to ask him. I think the COM, AIN and 10V are for the speed regulator and the 24V, S1,S2,S3 are for FWD, Stop and REV .
Thanks Olaf |

Hi to all I'm new to this forum and need some help, I have bought about 1 years ago a new motor and a so called "union graduate remote pendant" for my Myford super 7 lathe. The Teco 7300CV Inverter I had bought some time be for.
I found now the time to install all this to my Myford and it works all fine FWD and Stop are working, BUT the Revers switch on the pendant will not work.
I put all the parameter I got with the remote pendant in to the Teco 7300CV but no Revers.
Revers is enabled set to 0000
Set to 3- wire control 0002
Parameter 5-00 0000
Parameter 5-01 0001
Parameter 5-02 0002
(But in the Manuel is written "As 3 wire control mode is selected, the terminal S1, S2 and S3 is not controlled
by 5-00, 5-01 and 5-02."!) When I switch from the Teco it self in to REV it will work fine.
If I push the Rev from the remote pendant the rev light will blink on the Teco ( only as long as I press the Rev) but nothing will happen.
If I press first the REV and than the FWD button and hold the REV button the motor will start running in REV. When I release the REV button the motor will stop running.
I hope some one can help me to solve this problem. I add some photos from the wiring of the Teco and the pendant.
The white cable is 24V (PNP on the Teco selected)
yellow is S1
brown is S2
blue is S3
Thanks Olaf |
