Hi Alan,
I would also ask what you intend to machine, and also how often? I don't use coolant on my Lathe, but do use cutting oil applied by brush as and when required, in my view coolant is good for some environments where high speed or big cuts are made.. Ie industry, where its also used very frequently. reason I don't is also, having bought a Bridgeport mill which was using coolant, i can see what its done, tending to wash very small particles into to every place possible !, also a deposit of red rusty materials has been compacted in to oil-ways etc.. old suds oil is not very good, and does need frequent replacement, so that is why i ask how frequent you use it typically as a hobby / enthusiast its likely to be less than 10% of that in a industrial place, using it 5 days a week 8 hrs a day, they can afford to replace it every 3 or 6 months.. and spend the time to clean out the sump.. the choice is yours, but I just stick with cutting oil, buy in bulk and its quiet cheap, the last one I had was 20 or 25 Lt for about £65 inc delivery, and will last me for 10 years or more.. Something to think about.. Regards Mark

For any one interested the resistor in question is R6, which was damaged when a fault occurred with the micro switches and one was effectively welded / stuck, so both were being operated at same time. or thats my conclusion, as to the cause, |

Hi Can any one help please I have a electrical fault on the feed control module of my milling machine and am trying to find out the value of the resistor which has burnt out, the control module is a "ERSKINE Rev4 PD-1114-03-B" control box (on a Bridgeport series 1 mill) which controls the table longitudinal feed. if any one has a close up photo, or a circuit diagram of this its much appreciated... Here is the crunch all the manuals available that i can find on line, or have got copies of all show the American version which have different circuits.. so it is the English version i am after. I will paste a photo a bit later Thanks Mark |

Hi, does any one have a circuit diagram for the F6 feed PCB, ie the UK version which differs from the USA version as per the manuals show and is reproduce above, mine is a "Easkine revision 4" ... I am particularly interested in finding out the value of R6 as mine has been damaged (burnt out) due to a micro switch problem.. and comparing other values from the PCB they dont match the circuit diagram.
