I take it you won't be getting an e-car any time soon.

I agree far better not to hold the die-holder under power, but in fairness at least the OD of the holder is smooth so less likely to cause injury.

Can you not buy/make some M6 x 0.75 studding?

I'm looking for designs that are now out of copyright with a view to producing castings for same. I'd also be happy to discuss taking on some of those designs if the terms are right.

In the "For Sale" I section recently advertised a surplus copy of a model engineering book.

Don't be tempted to name and shame prematurely. It might prejustice your case.

Although they do usually have riveted lap joints the majority of fireboxes are copper. There are one or two "new builds" that have gone down the welded steel route with "variable" results.

The organisation of your filing system is similar to mine. However you took a somewhat different route than I am taking to resolve the problem.

In the case of those motorcyclists/motorists with after-market exhausts, wouldn't they simply temporarily refit the original exhaust for the MOT?
