Hi David,
Thanks for your reply to my posting. It is indeed unfortunate that the online index of Model Engineering is not currently available. I will continue to search for the article by whatever means I can find. I wish I could get my hands on a hard-copy of the engineering drawings.

I am particularly interested in this topic since I've acquired the estate of a master craftsman who recently passed away. Included in his inventory was a partially completed R.L.E. engine (Serial #290). I am missing the engineering drawings and a few pieces. The engine base, main frame, cylinder and water hopper are all there and mostly machined, as well as the two flywheels. Although I am still carefully unpacking the shop boxes, but have not found the cylinder head, etc.
If anyone has suggestions of where I might obtain the engineering drawings or remaining castings, I'd be grateful.
