Thanks everyone..
I am usingetch primer and enamel paint followed by a clear laquer.

I dont think I am going to oven bake it besides the heat of the boiler will do a good job anyway.

But this was worth a good discussion.

Hi all

I am just painting the bass cleading on my boiler. I have notice in passing at various places over the internet people have mentioned "Baking the paint on" in an domestic oven.

I assume this helps bond the paint to the metal better? Quicker?

Does anyone here do it? for how long do you bake the paint? how hot? is it worth it? I have tried googling this but not found any answers.

Thread: ER32 Extension
22/08/2023 09:28:20

harsh comments in here for a typo and quick post I made...

Came back to make a correction.. my collect chuck runs 6 thou excentric runout. (got my imperial and metric mixed up again)
Its still a lot for a collet chuck without a collet fitted.

To be honest i have one. it is spectaculary made. but!!! i get 20 thou run out off mine and thats without a collet fitted..
I suspect tthat can't be due to the collet holder as it is made so well.. not sure where to look next at improving it but thought I should bring it up. I was going to make one myself but bought this instead.
Just some food for thought.

Thread: Rolling road construction
09/06/2023 12:26:32

does anyone identify how this rolling road is constructed?
it would appear the bar is inline and perhaps bearings inset into it?

I am building my own rolling road and like the concept as the space under the loco is not blocked with a spacer.
