I have just had a look at a S&B "L" model C from Cambridge university which was used for instrument making. It comes with about 30 collets, a three jaw 5" self centering chuck and 2 x 4 jaw chucks 4" and 6". It is fitted with a 2 speed 3/4 hp motor and looks in very good condition and I am assured that it has been well maintained as it was used to make instruments at the university but I don't have three phase or much space in my shed. Could anyone give me any advice and is it worth buying?
