I've started cleaning it up. One broken screw extracted while dismantling it. The bearing surfaces seem in pretty good condition. Painted bits that had paint. Looks pretty smart so far.

I think your right about it being the flexispeed. Now to start to look for more info, get it user ready and find out how to use it.

I have been reading through a lot of web pages trying to find it. One of which is the lathes UK sight. The closest I found so far is the early Portass that became the adept. If I can find the screw holes where the badge went that might confirm the identity of the lathe. I'll have a play with it and a good clean and look over the lathe in the next few days maybe I can find some markings. |

Hi chaps. Newbie here having picked up an old small lathe. I'm hoping i will be able to do small decorative items to compliment my wood turning. I havnt found any markings on it. It looks like an adept. Did all the adepts have the makers name on them? It's mounted on a frame with motor and needs a good clean and sorting out. Can anyone point me in the right direction to find out more about it please. |
