Hiya gents thanks you for the guidence much appreciated. I also had someone from Myford forum on facebook give my an extremely good walk though and now understand and happy how to go about it alontg with my own manual/guide homework Cheers Jason

Can someone tell me how to safely start the motor to check if it spins up ok?

Unfortunately my 85yr old father has gone into a care home and sadly his Myford Super 7 need to go to a new home. He always cared for it and was well greased and oiled especially before he last used it a few years ago. We managed to move it to my brothers home (Birmingham area) but had no involvement with since he bought it when we were kids. I last used a lathe at school 35years ago at school so forgotten everything.
