Ian Rabenda: I have a Willson Mk I slantbed no 13582/906 and, like you, also invested in the manual from lathes.co.uk. I think we are a minority on this forum; have you any experience of the ElliottMachineToolOwnwersGroup (sic)?
Thanks for responding! I have no experience with the Elliott forum yet although it looks like posts are rather sparse. I had to completely disassemble my lathe in order to move it out of someones basement and get it home. Even more disassembly to paint and restore it. Didn't take enough pics and notes and now not sure how some of the parts are supposed to go together. However I have just found in the manual an answer to one of my biggest questions which I had missed before. Will have to scour that manual some more to see if other answers are hidden there. I suppose its probably too much to ask but I was wondering if there was any historical record of when my lathe would have been built. Perhaps I've been spoiled by the abundance of data for my South Bend lathes where serial numbers can be tied to a date of manufacture. |

I joined this forum because I'm looking for info on the Elliott Willson Mark 1 N lathe. Acquired one of these recently also acquired the manual from lathes.co.uk but found it lacking. Are there any other owners of this machine out there or of the similar slant bed lathes? |
